Part 7 Winter Trip - Corpus Christi Boat Show

Bill and I are suckers for boat shows so  we loaded up Don and Juanette and headed to Corpus Christi to spend the afternoon at the boat show.

If you think the front end of this boat is impressive, just look at the back end...

Oh no, I'm not sitting that high up off the deck of the boat!

This I might ride in as long as we don't go hunting Bambi!

Part 6 Winter Trip - Paradise Pond

Paradise Pond is the only permanent freshwater wetland on Mustang Island.  It is a two acre oasis surrounded by Black Willow and native prairie grasses.  Unfortunately it had been almost dry the last few years due to the severe drought.  However the fall and winter rains have the pond back full and teaming with life.

Look at the reflection of the log and turtles in the water.  It makes for a circular image!

Juanette took this picture.  Tree limb looks suspended high in the sky in the clouds!  What still water to get such a reflection.

Look at the moss on the back of this turtle.
